Olorundare Sunday, Thomas – Founder and Managing Partner, Dasunoth Consulting

O.S Thomas is a seasoned insurance and actuarial professional with over 40 years of experience spanning leadership, regulatory, and advisory roles in the financial services sector. As the Founder of Dasunoth Consulting, he brings a wealth of expertise in management advisory, business development, and strategic planning, with a focus on delivering tailored solutions to drive organisational growth and resilience.

His distinguished career includes serving as the Commissioner for Insurance and CEO of the National Insurance Commission, where he spearheaded pivotal policies and reforms to strengthen Nigeria’s insurance landscape as well as the Nigerian industry’s first ever Trillion Naira year in premium transactions. Thomas also served as Director-General of the Nigerian Insurers Association, leading the industry’s transformation through projects such as the innovative Nigerian Insurance Industry Database (NIID). He also built the framework of the current Insurance act governing the Liberian Insurance Industry.

A Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria and an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of London, Thomas combines technical proficiency with a strategic vision. He has contributed to major national and international initiatives, including serving on the governing boards of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the African Reinsurance Corporation.

An alumnus of the University of Lagos, Thomas holds a B.Sc. in Actuarial Science and an MBA in Finance. With a passion for fostering excellence and innovation, he is committed to helping businesses navigate challenges, optimize operations, and achieve sustainable growth.

In addition to his professional achievements, Thomas has shared his knowledge as a lecturer and thought leader, presenting on topics such as risk management, financial market development, and regulatory frameworks.
